African paradise flycatcher

Wednesday afternoon on the Yenzi loop I marvel at the sight of a black and white robin-sized bird searching among the roadside trees. A blue-black crested head with eye-rings and bill a metallic blue. White epaulets on wings flash in the sunlight as it flits from limb to limb, picking up an insect here and there. The tail is what catches my attention, two white streamers about 14 inches long follow the curve of its flight like a wedding train. It allows me fairly close, and I hear its cheerful twee-twee-twee-twee-twee.  High marks for the African paradise flycatcher.
