In spite of humanity.

In spite of all the obstacles put in their way. In spite of the hunting. In spite of the poaching. The snaring. The harassment. In spite of slash and burn agriculture, the cutting of their habitat.

Elephants continue to call this place home. The Gamba Complex of Protected Areas.

  1. You take so many amazing photo’s – but this one is up there with my favourites. It reminds me of how animals are amazing at adapting to changes. I saw a presentation a few years back regarding how fish create new homes in and amongst the legs of oil rigs.
The other day I watched a similar sized elephant pick up my garden hose with its trunk and shake the remaining drops of water into his mouth. True adaptability!

    1. Trev,
Interesting story. I am constantly amazed by the intelligence of elephants.
