Light rains pass overhead as local kids gather in a backstreet of Camp 4, a village near the mining town of Yekepa in Nimba County, Liberia. Forestry Ranger Sando, aka “the General”, has brought us to his home to show us a monkey, a Sooty mangabey, confiscated under actions of Forestry Development Authority. The kids show more interest in Lisa, Tim, and myself, with our pale skin and western clothing, probably trying to figure our “foreign” American accents.
