Lofa County, Liberia

Lofa County is the northernmost point in Liberia, sharing a border with Sierra Leone and Guinea. As of 2008 census the county of 9900 square kilometers had a population of more than 276,000. Rice, cassava, cocoa and sugarcane are the most common agricultural products. Logging is big industry as forests are being harvested for large trees in addition to the slash and burn practice of clear-cutting for agriculture.
